Harlequin collar pin, silver
Dode collar pin is made from the finest sterling silver. It is a result of our fascination with the so-called Platonic solids. The Greek philosopher Platon was the first to describe them, hence the name.
They consist of 5 different geometrical figures which all again consist of a number of similar sides. For instance, a cube is also 6 squares (a platonic solid consists of it). Dode collar pin consists of 12 pentagons and it is called a Dodecahedron.
Dode collar pin makes you look sophisticated
A collar pin is one of the more rare accessories in our time today. This might be explained by the fact that the most sophisticated look comes from the smallest details.
The Dode collar pin lifts up the tie and to hold steady the shirt collars and it works best with straight, less spread collars. For exactly this purpose you will need to have a shirt with eyelets in the collars. They can be ordered at any tailor or made to measure in men´s clothing stores. Some of the more expensive brands for men even have them as a standard.
Experience and a steady hand are required in order to screw on the small end piece but once you have learned the technique it feels extremely nice to wear.
You start by binding the tie and by adjusting the collars where after you screw off one of the ends of the collar pin and introduce the pin through the first eyelet below the tie and out through the eyelet of the opposite collar. Finally, you need to screw on again the end.
Rinse in lukewarm water and soap and polish with our polishing cloth (enclosed). We do not recommend silver dip or the like, as such chemicals tend to ruin the surface.
